Although my heart lies in rural communities and their barns and although my main focus is to record the history and stories of these barns before they’re gone, I can’t deny my love for the ocean. And, while running through one of our national parks, Fort Matanzas National Monument, I decided to donate a painting of their famous circa 1740 stone fort to the park system. Here’s a photo of me handing the painting to the head ranger, Andrew Rich. I told him that this was payback for the national park senior pass I bought for ten bucks several years ago. After using it for several years, I got way more than my money’s worth. So it was time for me to return the favor.
I painted some other Florida scenes as well, which are for sale in Florida. Just let me know if you’re interested. All are impasto oil on linen panels.
